Neurodevelopmental Service Coach and Peer Mentor
Expert By Experience
After receiving my own autism diagnosis at The Retreat I spent the following years as a self-advocate, known mainly for giving talks around the country at events and conferences. I also delivered training to companies and organisations across the UK in addition to giving interviews to the media, both nationally and internationally. A few years ago I started peer mentoring, helping autistic adults make sense of their diagnosis. Excited by the work they are doing, I felt privileged to bring my knowledge and lived experience to The Retreat and to have joined their wonderful team.
I’ve been married for over three decades and together we have five children, two of whom are also autistic. When not busy with family life I love all things geeky and tech and I’m a huge and unashamed Trekkie
Experience of The Retreat
I received my own diagnosis at The Retreat and it’s true to say that my autism diagnosis changed my life. Working with The Retreat gives me the opportunity to give something back and help others going through the same experiences I myself went through.
In My Own Words
I’m a public speaker, trainer and mentor. I was honoured recently to become an Expert By Experience at The Retreat. Married for 30 years, we have 5 daughters so don’t have much free time but when I do I can usually be found watching Star Trek or listening to music.
